Q: In what areas are your services available?

For more than seven years, Genacta In-Home Care of Anchorage has been trusted in the community and throughout Alaska for providing caring assistance in the familiar surroundings of home.


Q: Who needs in-home care?

In addition to the elderly, many people are injured, ill, or disabled at some point and may require help with day-to-day activities. We are also passionate about helping medically fragile children, people with disabilities or intellectual/developmental disabilities and frail or ill seniors with unique care requirements to foster their independence and inspire families’ peace of mind.


Q: How much does the service cost?

We bill on an hourly basis most of the time. The hours required to properly care for your loved one will be determined on the initial assessment interview and reviewed on an ongoing basis. Please contact us to learn more about our pricing.


Q. What are my payment options for home care services? Are your home care services covered through Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance?

Genacta In-Home Care can help you understand how to apply for Alaska Medicaid and direct you to information on what services can be covered. Our services are available for private pay, private insurance, and Medicaid clients. For more details, including eligibility requirements, please contact us today.


Q: Is your agency licensed?

Yes, we operate under the requirements of the law and are appropriately licensed based on the state of Alaska and local regulations.


Q. Are your caregivers insured and bonded?

Yes, Genacta In-Home Care caregivers are bonded, licensed and insured.


Q: What makes Genacta In-Home Care different from other in-home care companies?

Q. What are the advantages of home health care?

Even when frailty is a factor, in-home care clients tend to feel better and more comfortable when they are allowed to live in their own homes with a feeling of self-reliance and independence. Home care offers tailored care to the needs of the family and the individual on any given day. Plus, in-home care delivers one-on-one care, social stimulation, healthy exercise, and balanced meals that appeal to the client and adhere to any dietary restrictions.


Q. Will I be able to reach a caregiver after hours? If so, how can I contact someone after hours?

We maintain on-call access to staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If a caregiver fails to show due to illness or an emergency, our on-call staff will assist you in providing care coverage.


Q. How quickly can I arrange for service?

Immediately. From the moment of intake, care begins.


Q. Do you require a commitment to a minimum of hours and days a week in order to provide care?

Genacta In-Home Care can provide caregivers by the hour. We do not require a minimum number of days.


Q. What kind of services do you provide?

Our complimentary care assessment in the home will identify individual needs and allow us to create a personalized care plan that perfectly suits the situation. Services we provide include: light housekeeping, companionship, meal preparation, transportation, socialization and fun outings away from home, chore services, and personal care, to name a few. We specialize in respite care/family respite, supported employment, dementia/Alzheimer’s care, residential habilitation, in-home support, day habilitation, care coordination/case management, and supported living.


Q. How are your caregivers screened?

Caregivers employed at Genacta In-Home Care are thoroughly screened and must meet our strict guidelines for employment. We always perform a comprehensive investigation that involves reference checks, state and federal background checks and DMV record checks. We train, manage and supervise all caregivers, and cover all government mandated taxes and worker’s compensation for our employees. Only caregivers who pass our in-depth screening process, orientation and training are employed by Genacta In-Home Care.
